"X-server грузится с дровами Nvidia, а картинки нету..,"

Поставил последний драйвер Nvidia (брал с nvidia.com , bla-bla.run). Встал нормально, без ошибок.

Правлю xorg.conf - nv меняю на nvidia, load glx есть, все ок.

стартую х - хард потрескивает, все грузится, но картинки нету ( черный экран) и лампочка монитора моргает, как будто в спящем режиме...

Подскажите люди добрые , что мне, чайнику, делать?

1) частенько это бывает, когда разрешения или частоты развертки видюхи превышают мониторные пределы

некоторые TFT мониторы дополнительно предупреждение выбрасывают


2) nvidia выпускаются в 2-х вариантах
   до версии какой-то - поддержка старых плат
   с версии такой-то - поддержка плат начиная с XXX модели

у меня Riva TNT2 и GF6600
из 4-х версий драйверов нашел только по одному, который с каждой нормально работает

Отключи модуль agp, если он загружается через loader.conf, то закоментируй строчку с его зарузкой: [b]agp_load="YES"[/b]
В противном случае надо пересобирать ядро, закоментировав строчку в кофигурационном файле [b]device agp[/b]

Как было сказано выше, видеокарта выдала режим, который монитору не по-силам.
Лечится это следующим образом:
Файл xorg.conf

Section "Monitor"

    HorizSync       30.0 - 100.0
    VertRefresh     40.0 - 190.0

EndSection
Надо выставить частоты которые монитор тянет, и все обычно запускается
