"nForce2 & Radeon & xorg 6.8.2 & dri "

Народ, на свою беду заменил материнку с чипсетом SIS на nForce 2 (EPoX 8RDA+PRO), теперь не могу зайти в Хы - мусор на экране, но ^D работает, при выходе система часто переобувается, кто нибудь решил подобную проблему ?
Видео Radeon 9000 Pro. Система FBSD 6.0-CUR но подобные проблемы есть и под другими Unix.

Попробуй переехать на 5-ку, там все же попроще. Поповоду чипа и видяхи - на таких сидел без проблем, но повторюсь - на 5-ке.
Попробуй ядро пересобрать с минимумом девайсов и поочередно включай. На чем станет вываливать - то и проблема. А вообще, не плохо бы логи привести, что дамп "дает" и т.д.

2. "nForce2 & Radeon & xorg 6.8.2 & dri "

Дело в том, что Х не падают, сами по себе, и ошибок не выводят,
при попытке переключится в текстовую консоль виснет, а при выходе
переключается в текстовый режим и иногда не доходя до приглашения шела
переобувается, если скомпилировать ядро без device agp, то виснет при
старте Хов. Если убрать Load dri из xorg.conf то работает нормально.

Если ты видишь , что проблемы с dri, то тогда пересобери его. Или попробуй собрать linux_dri - хотя у меня наоборот с ним возникали тормоза.

если ты не планируешь работать с OpenGL (например в игрушки шпилиться), то можешь обойтись и без него.
Еще, как вариант, пересобери drm, они в паре, так сказать, работают.

У меня nForce2 Ultra (Epox 8RDA3+) & Radeon 9200SE & Xorg 6.8.2
C FreeBSD 5.3 c agp в ядре эта конфигурация железа стабильно не работает.
Заработало после отключения dri _И_ выбрасывания всяких следов поддержки agp из ядра. Причина -- недоделанная поддержка drm для этого вида карт.

Да, для этих видях он кривой, но кстати именно с твоей видяхой (9200SE) у меня чесно работает сейчас одна машина (dri/drm), правда там мать P4P800

Народ, дело было в матери, сдал на замену обратно в магазин, взял пока у знакомого на KT266 и все заработало, wine war3.exe -opengl играет замечательно, правда раза в 1.5 медленне чем в винде, но надо учесть то что на экране стоит разрешение 1280х960 и запущен он в окне 1024х768. И еще Eric Anholt написал мне по поводу nForce2 и Radeon:
See the verious PRs about the nforce2 agp not working with radeons.
I've tried to fix it in various ways, to no avail.
