Mar 16 09:36:00 <lewellyn> hm. so i'm guessing this channel isn't heavy on the english,
based on that image in the topic? ;)
Mar 16 09:57:45 <lewellyn> anyhow, how come the rescue iso boots fine on uefi but
the server and jeos do not? i'm using the mar 12 isos
for jeos & server.
Mar 16 09:58:00 <lewellyn> is there something obvious that i'm missing?
Mar 16 09:59:18 <lewellyn> this is where it hangs on the jeos & server ISOs:

Mar 16 09:59:26 <lewellyn> the rescue image boots past that without issue
[...]
Mar 18 21:09:03 <lewellyn> i'm trying to install into a Generation 2 Hyper-V machine.
it's a very strict interpretation of the uefi spec,
and no csm at all. the rescue image boots fine.
Mar 18 21:09:14 <gvy> lewellyn, rescue uses a newer kernel and that might be the culprit
(or the lack thereof)
Mar 18 21:09:20 <lewellyn> possibly so.
Mar 18 21:09:26 <gvy> I can build server images with that one for you, it's easy :-)
Mar 18 21:09:57 <lewellyn> i'm a bit bummed because literally every distro has had
a different issue. the rescue image was the only thing
which was perfect... and it's not installable. :)Mar 18 21:21:19 <lewellyn> the funnest was ubuntu testing. their kernel was tainted
because of screwing up their drivers, and they only included
half the ones i needed. that caused it to boot, but the
installer failed. not that i *want* ubuntu on a server,
but i tried it anyhow. :)
Mar 18 21:26:59 <lewellyn> yay. you incldue the right drivers for the synthetic mouse!
+1 cookie! :D
Mar 18 21:27:27 <lewellyn> it's the simple things which make life great
Mar 18 21:29:01 <lewellyn> it found my hard disk using netvsc, another plus.
Mar 18 21:29:14 <lewellyn> er. storvsc.
Mar 18 21:29:21 <lewellyn> too many modules :P
